In the Middle

With the recent ruling of SCOTUS regarding Roe V Wade & now allowing prayer in public schools, Conservatives are cheering! Those on the right are thrilled! Yay! They’ve won! The US laws are theirs. It will only get better from here for Conservative Republicans, right?

WRONG! Whoever thinks this has got it all wrong. Let me get one thing straight & make this very clear. I’m an Independent. I’ve voted Republican & Democrat. If you look me up, I am a registered Republican, so I can vote in the primaries in Hamilton County, which typically only has republicans running for office. I see issues with BOTH sides.

Here’s why these decisions are actually going to hurt the Republican Party & it’s chances at reelection, not only in the presidential election, but in other elections as well.

You see there are a whole lot of people like me, who do not like Joe Biden or his politics. I don’t like how he’s handled the economy, the response to Covid, nor am I a Socialist He’s too old to lead our country quite frankly. So, the Democratic choice for the next President is either going to be him or if he steps down, Kamila. While I love the fact that we have an African American woman as Vice President, I don’t agree with her politics either.

But here’s my dilemma and the dilemma of many others who are moderates. I will never vote for someone who thinks that their belief that life begins at conception should be forced on the rest of the country (because I don’t) & abortion should be against the federal law. NEVER. Someone like that is scary in my opinion. If they are wanting to outlaw that you better believe they are coming for the rest of it. Pretty soon women won’t be able to take contraception and have to be subservient to men. Gay & interracial marriage is next. Our rights as women & minorities will be riddled away one at a time. Scary.

So, you see, now myself and all the MILLIONS of people like me who would never vote for someone so conservative or who supports people who are this conservative will have no choice but to vote for Joe or Kamila. I’ll have to deal with a backwards economy, soft borders and all that other stuff that I don’t like. Because between the 2 evils, it’s the lesser.

And it’s not just me. The pendulum just swung to the right, now it will swing to the left. It sucks when you want it to be in the middle. The next elections will see a Democratic landslide. Just wait.

So, my conservative, Republican friends (and I have many), cheer while ya can. If we can find a nice moderate Republican to run for the presidency that would be the best answer yet. Myself & the MILLIONS of other moderates might vote for him or her.
